Moving to Florida

After many years in Oklahoma. 42 to be exact. My wife and I are selling our house and moving to Florida. I would like to find a job in the marine industry at any level. Guide service, chartering service, boat repair, dockhand, deckhand, crew. Planning to attend school in April to get Captains License, OUPV (6 pack) Near Coastal and FCC Radio License, Certified First Aid. We hope to be settling down in the Ft. Myers area or St. Petersburg. Currently owner/manager/sales/customer service/designer of custom printing and packaging company. We will be continuing our business in Florida at some level. I have been in the printing industry for 23 years and it has treated me well. I have went from press helper to owner and all points in between. Hard worker with many good years left to devote to marine industry at any level. Looking for contacts in the above mentioned areas to network with. Kindest Regards.

But as a native Floridian I can tell you that there are all types of places here and within each community there are all types of folksDo yourself a favor, dont go to florida. My parents came down from New York. (Dad from staten island and mom from upstate monticello) and they are dieing to leave, but its very hard for them to because of the market. School systems are terrible, take it from me i have been in them for the past 17 years. Taxes are extremely high and insurance is killer. Save yourself and your kids.
